I was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, and moved to Canada almost 6 years ago.

I am married to a beautiful French Canadian lady, and she has been very supportive to me all the way. We have a beautiful little girl and another baby coming soon.

I am a member of the Calgary Real Estate Board, the Alberta Real Estate Association, and the Canadian Real Estate Association.

My favourite part of my real estate career is negotiation, and my professional background in marketing and sales has given me an added advantage in real estate and has added a lot of weight to my negotiation skills in the real estate industry. I always take full advantage of my skills and my experience to assist my client, by giving them educated advice on how to negotiate in real estate, and I always feel so proud when they shake my hand and with a big wide smile on their face they say to me "Thanks Amir, that's exactly what we wanted".

My Approach To My Work

The customer service level in our region has dropped dramatically in the last few years, and people actually get shocked when they go somewhere now in Calgary and receive good customer service. I think customer service is and should always be the number one priority in serving your clients in this industry.

I think it is very easy to "make a deal", but it requires much more effort to sustain a long term relationship with your clients and that's why I have promised myself to always keep my customer service and professionalism up to the max, (until I make the decision to retire and go live in my favourite place in the world - then I won't have to worry about anything... oops I guess I will still have to be polite! Oh well - a good attitude will always keep you young!).

The main keys in providing your clients and customers with excellent customer service are:

  1. BE HONEST, do what you said that you are going to do, never provide any false information just to impress your client. (I don't think that they will be that impressed with you once they find out that you misled them!) Put everything in writing and give it to your client; it will show them that they can put their trust in you without it being a blind faith.
  2. Patience, patience, patience:
    Buying or selling a house is one of the biggest and most important decisions that we will/can make throughout our life, and the money transaction that is involved in this decision is HUGE. Therefore, realtors must be very patient with their clients and be able to help them feel more relaxed and confident in their decisions, and NOT make them feel pressured or stressed. They shouldn't ever try to push their clients to buy if they haven't found the "right" home yet, even if they have already seen many houses. My technique is to always make notes after each house I show them, about what they like and what they don't like, and that helps me be successful in locating their new home as soon as possible. Believe me, it works that way! If a client has seen 50 houses and they did not like any of them, well then I am sure their realtor is not doing his homework.
  3. You must understand your clients' needs and want, in order to be able to achieve what they want. That's not too hard to do if you take the time to communicate with them clearly - Just ask your clients!
  4. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, I always study my clients' requests prior to proceeding to achieve their targets.
  5. Do your due diligence and get as much info that might help your client make an informed decision, so that they can feel very confident about their decision, that's the realtor's main job, is to bring all the facts together and explain it to the client and provide market analysis etc..., but also to remember that even after all of your input, it is your clients who must make their own decision – they will be the ones living in the house they buy, not you!
  6. When you are working, simply put your client's interests above your own interests and your client will see it and appreciate it.
  7. And after all, say to your client "THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING ME" because I am sure that most of the clients did some homework prior to selecting their realtor. And even if they are "repeat" clients, say thanks for remembering me and choosing me again!

There is more and more that realtors can do to provide their customers and clients with all the support and hard work that they deserve.

I can't speak for any other realtors, but once again these are the main goals in my career, because I like my clients to have good memories of their time and business with me, and I always LOVE their referrals.
